National Gallery of Iceland

The National Gallery of Iceland, established in 1884, is the principal art museum of Iceland. Its art collection consists mainly of works of 19th and 20th century art.

Árbær Museum

Árbær was an established farm well into the 20th century, and the museum opened there in 1957. Árbær is now an open air museum with more than 20 buildings which form a town square, a village and a farm. Most of the buildings have been relocated from central Reykjavík.

Akureyri Museum

Interesting and unique artifacts can be found in the exhibitions relating to the Viking period, the middle Ages, religion and everyday life in Eyjafjörður and Akureyri in the past.
